Snow Day!

We had a pretty good snow fall last week so the kids went outside to play in it. My sister Julia and her family were visiting (Josh, Josephine and Lillian). They are moving to Des Moines, IA next week so they needed to get Josephine her own snow gear anyway, so she had it while she was here to play too. They all looked pretty cute all bundled up.

The most shocking news....

We have no venison in our fridge. Surprising I know. I think if Nick were a hunter he would not be able to resist, but instead we just feed them and enjoy watching them.

A really bubbly bubble bath....

We had a really bubbly bubble bath one morning.  I discovered that if I fill up our master tub and then add a tiny bit of bubbles and turn on the the jets it will bubble like crazy!  The kids loved it.  Jack woke up to find Isabella already in the bath.  He was excited and ready to dive in.  Is it just me or does this boy look huge?

They were up to their necks in bubbles, then Jack slipped and went under, of course I was right there but it made me nervous so we drained most of the water and they continued to play in the bubbles.

The Zaffos Family visit

We have had the Zaffos family here for the last week and a half, actually I guess tomorrow it will be 2 weeks. It has been so wonderful having them here. I have really missed spending time with Julia over the last several years. They have been so far away in TX and with all the little kids it is tough to make those long trips. We are happy we have been able to visit with them while they are in transit to Des Moines. It has been a bit of a challenge for the children to be around each other day in and day out for 2 weeks. I think it would be easier if it were warm outside and we could head out to the playground each day or even out shopping just to get out. It has been so cold and the snow and ice make me reluctant to take the kids out for a joy ride. Even with the cabin fever, it has been great to spend time together and we will really miss them when they go.

Snow play

Uncle Josh took the kids out in the snow one day.  Well Jack was napping and so Isabella and Josephine went out. This was before Josephine had her own snowsuit, so she is wearing a mix of Jack and Isabella's snow clothes.

Isabella enjoys eating the snow!

We fed the deer some corn and chopped carrots we had in the house.  Isabella sat on the hot tub and watched them eat up the food.

Happy Birthday Cristina!

Cristina celebrated her 28th birthday on January 1st. We asked them to come up for the day so we could watch their kids. Chris took Cristina out for some birthday fun! They went and saw a movie and went out to Starbucks for a little treat. In the evening, Nick made Cristina her requested meal and a decadent chocolate cake. I cut out letters to write "Happy Birthday Cristina" so we could sprinkle powdered sugar on it. It turned out really good. Here are some pictures of our afternoon together.

Happy New Year!

For New Year's Eve, our friends Nate and Heather came down from Jersey. We had a great time with them.

Isabella and Braden really played well together. Here they are sharing the bike.
Annabel was a sweet little thing. She is already rolling all over the place and seemed like she wanted to crawl! She is just 5 months!
Nick and Nate had fun playing cribbage. Annabel helped too by being a place for daddy to stack his cards.
