Christ is Risen!

We started our morning by heading to 7:30 mass.  We wanted to try to beat some of the madness of the later masses.  It worked out pretty well.  We told the kids we would look at our Easter stuff when we returned, but we had to put God first.  It worked because they are 3 and 1, but I don't know if they will be able to wait in future years.

Isabella's "basket."  I was bummed that their real baskets were left at Nonna and Pop-pop's house.  We really have to make sure we have those for next year.   Isabella got a St. Isabella softie doll.  It has a cute little prayer on the back.

Jack got a St. Anthony softie doll.  I think his favorite was the Matchbox cars.  He has really gotten so excited about cars and trains lately.

After checking out our baskets.  We did an Easter egg hunt in the house.  The weather did not support an outdoor hunt.  Isabella was all over it.  She loved finding the eggs and was beside herself with excitement.

Jack grabbed a few, but after his lesson from the church hunt, he realized there were treats inside and so he sat down and started enjoying the treats.

There were a few special eggs with marshmallow bunnies and chicks.  Isabella enjoyed this special treat.

Jack did not care for it.

Then we went to check out our alms jars and found that the dried beans we had been putting in during lent (each time we did something nice or sacrificed for another) had been transformed by the Easter angels in to colorful jelly beans.  Isabella was so excited.  We also finished off the last square on our Lent calendar.

Video of Isabella finding her alms jar:

He turned out super cute!

While sometimes he will sing the song completely on his own...here is Jack.  He sums it up best in what he calls the "Christ song"

  1. Precious! I tried to convince Chris we should do our hunt inside, but he didn't go for it. I didn't want the kids getting sandy and wet...he took my concerns very seriously and helped bury Easter eggs in the sandbox for the kids to dig out....
