Louisburg Cider Mill and National WWI museum

On Saturday the whole family headed out to Louisburg Cider Mill.  It has been featured on the Food Network.  They make their own cider there as well as apple butter, apple cider vinegar, and cider donuts.  They also make their own rootbeer.  It was fantastic!  The best cider we have ever had.  They also had Cider slushies.  They were very refreshing after a warm day at the pumpkin patch.

After some awesome cider and donuts, we headed out to the pumpkin patch.

We took a hayride around the patch...both kids enjoyed that.

On Sunday we headed to downtown Kansas City, MO and visited the National WWI museum.  It was originally built in the 1920s and then we recently renovated and added to and opened in 2006.  It was a really well done museum and had great exhibits.  It also has a large tower that you take an elevator up and then walk about two flights of stairs for a great view of the city. The kids loved that!

These were poppy flowers that you could see down below as you walked across this bridge to enter the museum.
There were 9,000 flowers, each representing 1,000 lives lost in WWI.  What a tragedy!
