Oooooooklahoma! (and the week after)

So the wind was sweepin' down the plain, and the waving wheat sure smelled sweet. Ok, enough of the Oklahoma song.

We met Aunt Julia, Uncle Josh, and Josephine in Oklahoma City for the Labor Day weekend. We had a great time spending time with them. We went down to the Stockyards, which basically consisted of a cowboy store and a great steakhouse called Cattlemens. It has been around 100 years and was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. They had a ridiculous salad dressing...very good creamy garlic homemade dressing.

Sunday we went to church in the morning and then met up at the zoo, which is actually on the list of top zoos in the country. It was really nice. The kids had a great time and if it wasn't for baby Jack we probably could have done a bit more. His fun meter got pegged right around lunch time. After nap we went to their Bricktown district, which is similar to San Antonio's Riverwalk only much smaller I have heard. We ate at a pretty good BBQ place down there.

They had a great children's zoo area which had a fun play area and a great double slide.  The kids all had fun on it.  We were really impressed with Isabella and her climbing skills!

I think Uncle Josh was in the right place at the right time and was the recipient of the all the love.

Here is a look at the Bricktown district. It was really pleasant to walk down there, at least for those of us who weren't 36 weeks pregnant.

Back home again.  Thus began a week of exploring lots of local parks, the farm again, and Monkey Bizness.  There were quite a few rainy days which made us seek some indoor entertainment.

After realizing that Jack's shoes were entirely too small, we went shoe shopping for some new shoes.  Here he is in his size 6 shoes!!

On Friday we went to Little Monkey Bizness, an indoor play place for kids.  It is only about 15 minutes from us in Shawnee Mission.  It was on Living Social on Thursday for Kansas City.  What a great deal!  It was $15 for 5 visits and we could buy two passes so we got 10 visits (or 5 visits with two kiddos) for $30.  It is usually $7.50 per kid.  We spent all morning there.  We got there right when they opened at 9:30 and had lunch there and played until 1pm.  In addition to all the playgrounds, bouncing, climbing stuff.  They also have an art room where there are all sorts of art supplies and smocks to make your own creation, so we also did some painting.  What a great little place!!  Oh and Jack loved their balls.  That is his favorite toy!

Got another order from Soap.com.  The kids love playing in the box.

Jack is now very helpful and walks himself from the house to the car and vice versa.  It really helps my back to not try to juggle him and all our stuff.  Especially since have a little walk from the apartment to the car.  He enjoys his new found independence as well.  He is a surprisingly good listener and usually is happy to follow his big sister where ever she goes.

Saturday we went to the Oak Park Mall in Kansas City.  It has a double decker or two story carousel and a great little play area right next to it.  We went to play.  Isabella loved the carousel.

We also stopped by the Disney store and Isabella tried on the Mad hatter hat.  They have all their costumes out and she is thrilled!  She really thinks this hat is silly!  We are still trying to figure out if she wants to do a Wizard of Oz or an Alice in Wonderland Halloween.

We are looking forward to another week and hope the weather is nice so we can keep enjoying all the wonderful parks in the area.

I also figured I would include a video of the kids playing in our bathroom in the apartment.  They really love all these sliding doors in the shower and the closets.  It could be hours of fun if I let them.
